Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about renting a student room in Padova with Feluca Rooms.
Booking & Availability
How do I book a room?+
Browse our apartment pages and click the HousingAnywhere link for the room you like. The entire booking process — from reservation to contract signing — is handled securely through HousingAnywhere.
When should I start looking for a room?+
We recommend starting your search 2–3 months before the semester begins. Rooms in Padova fill up quickly, especially for the autumn intake (September–October).
Can I book a room without visiting in person?+
Yes. Every listing includes detailed photos and descriptions so you can make an informed decision remotely. Most of our international tenants book before arriving in Italy.
Contracts & Payments
What type of contract do I get?+
You will receive an Italian "contratto transitorio" (temporary rental contract), fully registered with the tax authorities. This is the standard contract type for students and temporary residents.
What's included in the rent?+
Rent covers your fully furnished room and access to shared spaces (kitchen, bathroom, living areas). Utility costs (electricity, gas, water, internet) are handled separately — we'll explain exactly how during check-in.
Is a deposit required?+
Yes. A security deposit of 1–2 months' rent is collected at the start of the contract. It is returned at the end of your stay, minus any deductions for damages beyond normal wear.
Moving In
What do I need for check-in?+
Bring your passport or EU ID card, your codice fiscale (Italian tax code), and a signed copy of the rental contract. We'll guide you through everything before your arrival.
Can I arrive outside office hours?+
We offer flexible check-in arrangements. Let us know your arrival date and time in advance and we'll coordinate key handover to fit your schedule.
What's provided in the apartment?+
All rooms come fully furnished (bed, desk, wardrobe, shelving). Shared areas include a fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, and high-speed WiFi. You only need to bring personal items.
Living in Padova
How do I get a codice fiscale?+
You can request one at the local Agenzia delle Entrate office with your passport. It takes about 15 minutes. We can provide directions and help if needed.
Is Padova safe for international students?+
Very. Padova is a historic university city with a large international student community. The city centre is walkable, well-lit, and generally considered one of the safest in northern Italy.
How do I get around Padova?+
Most students cycle — Padova is very bike-friendly. The city also has a reliable bus and tram network. The historic centre is compact and easily walkable.
Utilities & Services
Is WiFi included?+
Yes. High-speed WiFi is available in all our apartments at no extra cost.
How do utilities work?+
Utility costs (electricity, gas, water) are split among tenants based on actual consumption. We handle the provider contracts — you just contribute your share, typically settled every two months.
Who do I contact for maintenance issues?+
Reach out to us directly via the contact details provided at check-in. We coordinate all maintenance and repairs with our trusted local technicians and aim to resolve issues within 24–48 hours.
End of Stay
How does check-out work?+
We schedule a walk-through inspection of the room and shared spaces. Once everything is in order, your deposit is returned within 30 days after the contract end date.
Can I extend my stay?+
Extensions are possible subject to room availability. Contact us at least one month before your contract ends so we can check availability and prepare an updated contract.
